Digital Infrastructure
Technology serves capability. Never the reverse.
Sankofa's digital infrastructure is one expression of Capability Infrastructure — never its identity. Every system is built to make African capability legible to itself and durable across generations.

The Alliance treats software as institutional scaffolding: patient, replaceable, accountable. Each system is designed to leave the community holding more capability than it had before — including the capability to leave the system.
The design invariants are simple and non-negotiable. Communities remain the primary rights-holders in the data that describes them. Systems are interoperable rather than closed. Architectural seams are reserved for future institutional needs the current programme cannot yet see.
The Systems
Four systems, one discipline.
Impact Ledger
HIPO
The Humanitarian Intelligence Platform. A ledger of capability, evidence, and outcomes designed so communities remain the primary rights-holders in the data that describes them.
Learning Systems
Sankofa Learn
Institutional learning infrastructure: curricula, credentials, and evidence flows designed to return the record of learning to the learner as an asset they own.
Field Systems
Sankofa Field
The tools that carry the Method into the field: intake, listening, consent, and evidence capture — shaped around the pace and constraints of community work.
Steward Infrastructure
The Commons
The interior life of the institution: where Stewards convene, read, publish, and hold one another to the discipline. It is where Sankofa's institutional memory accumulates.
The website you are on
This site is the first surface of Sankofa's digital infrastructure. Its architecture is deliberate: a modular content abstraction, a semantic design system, and an authenticated Commons behind an invitation-only boundary. Nothing here is a prototype. Every foundation ships with the discipline that will govern the next five years.
